Some weapons like "poison bomb", "gamma gun" or "poison cannon" can poison beasts (indicated by a greenish head emitting small green circles and occasional coughing). Poisoned beasts loose some hitpoints every turn (amount will soon be a menu setting). After some rounds in poisoned state (number is a menu setting) beasts turn into zombies. Beasts turn into zombies even before that time when they run out of hitpoints (from poison hitpoint draining).

Poisoned beasts can be healed by a green (small) or blue (large) health power-up.

Zombie beasts have a number of disadvantages:
  • They die without leaving a gravestone and thus cannot be resurrected.
  • They walk slower and jump less high (coming soon).
  • The have a limited movement set and cannot do jump combos, wall jumps or wide jumps.
Zombie beasts currently have these advantages:
  • They look pretty bad-ass.
  • Because the dead do not breathe, they can walk underwater without 'Scuba gear'.
  • Because the dead are cold, invisible zombies cannot be spotted using 'Magic goggles'.
Zombie beasts can be healed by a blue (large) health power-up.

All changes to zombie beasts are now implemented and will be available in the next build (0.78.20).
